María José Hierro
María José Hierro holds a PhD in Political Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2012) and a M.A. in Social Sciences from the Juan March Institute. Between 2007 and 2009, she was a Visiting Assistant in Research in the Department of Political Science at Yale University. Her stay at Yale was sponsored by Fundación la Caixa. Between 2009 and 2013, María José was the researcher responsible for the implementation of the European Social Survey (ESS) Project in Spain (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). She has also collaborated with the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) in the implementation of the Seventh Round of the ESS (2014-2015). She has been an adjunct professor at the UPF, the George Washington University in Madrid, the IE University and ESADE. Currently, she is a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Political Science at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She studies the causes of change in individual national identity, nationalism, political attitudes and political behavior.
